All conference workshops, sessions, and topics should align with one of the following tracks:
- AI & Data for Good - Exploring responsible, transformative uses of artificial intelligence, automation, and data to improve how IU works, learns, and serves communities.
- Collaboration Across and Beyond UITS - Showcasing partnerships that connect teams, departments, and institutions—building bridges across boundaries to create shared solutions.
- Building a Better IU - Highlighting initiatives that modernize systems, streamline processes, and make IU a stronger, more connected institution for the future.
- Leadership, Culture & Change - Focusing on the human side of technology—communication, empathy, team culture, and leading through transformation.
- Digital Experience & Accessibility - Centering user experience, inclusive design, and accessibility as essential pillars of IU’s digital ecosystem.
- Sustainable & Secure Infrastructure for the Future - Ensuring IU’s digital backbone is reliable, scalable, and sustainable—balancing innovation with responsibility and trust.
- Innovation in Education & Research - Exploring new frontiers—AR/VR, IoT, AI-driven research, and digital learning experiences that shape the future of discovery and teaching.
Conference workshops will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026.
A workshop is an interactive, skill-focused session designed for hands-on learning and practical application. Sessions may last up to a full day and give participants the opportunity to work together, learn new skills, and/or engage directly with experts on a topic of interest to IU's IT community.
In-Depth Workshop or Training proposals are held to high standard of quality because of the time commitment required of attendees--your proposal may be accepted as a 45 minute Breakout Session.
Breakout sessions will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, April 14-15, 2026.
Each 45-minute session invites presenters to share insights, solutions, or case studies related to one of the conference tracks. Breakout sessions often include Q&A and are designed to inspire, inform, and spark meaningful discussion among attendees. Some formats include:
- Community of Practice Meetup
- Discussion Panel with multiple participants
- Presentation
- Training Session
New this year, the Digital Showcase allows multiple people and departments to come together in one space to set up live demos of software, hardware, tools, or websites. Similar to a poster session, presenters can share their work, discuss how their projects were built or implemented, answer questions, and connect with colleagues from across IU.
Table topics will take place during breakfast on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
A small, informal discussion led by a facilitator that encourages open dialogue and idea-sharing on specific issues, trends, or challenges in IT at IU and beyond.
The Tech Expo will take place on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, throughout the morning and early afternoon.
The Tech Expo is a fun, high-energy event where IU IT departments and sponsors set up tables to exhibit the services and products they offer. It’s a great opportunity to showcase innovative projects, tools, and technologies, share demos or interactive exhibits, and engage one-on-one with attendees throughout the day.
