Accommodation Services

The UITS Statewide IT Conference offers Alternate Formats, Assisted Listening Device (ALD), America Sign Language Interpreter (ASL), Real-time Captioning (CART) and Conference Orientation Tours. These services are scheduled upon request.

Accommodation requests should be submitted through the registration form when signing up for the conference. To ensure we can make appropriate arrangements, all accommodation requests must be received by the end of day on March 30, 2026. Registrants who have requested accommodations will be contacted approximately two weeks prior to the conference to confirm their needs and obtain the list of sessions they plan to attend. Requests received less than two weeks before the conference will be reviewed and addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Available Services

Alternate Formats

Alternate Formats can be requested in advance during Conference registration. Attendees will receive an email with a link to the Accessible Word format. For the Tactile Braille Map of the IMU alternate format option, that will be available for pick-up at the conference at the registration table.

Assisted Listening Device

Assistive listening devices are available for all sessions. Instructions for obtaining a device will be provided to attendees requesting the service prior to the event.

American Sign Language Interpreters

Attendees can request sign language interpreters for sessions and events at the conference. Attendees requesting this service will be notified of next steps prior to the event.

Real-time Captioning (CART)

Real-time professional captioning services will be provided for the keynote and concluding ceremony of the event. Real-time professional captioning of individual sessions at the conference are available upon request. Presenters of individual sessions and workshops will be asked to enable automated captioning for all presentations by default. Unfortunately no transcripts will be available for distribution after the event.

Conference Orientation Tour

For first-time or returning Conference participants with low or no vision, a conference orientation tour will be available. The tour is designed to get participants oriented with navigating the locations across the multiple floors in the IMU where the conference sessions and events occur. Participants can select the Conference Orientation Tour during the conference registration process. Tour details will be emailed to participants before the conference.
